Hi again,
I'm a new user to this forum, so please don't take me wrong if I ask too many things. I want to buy SLR camera. My budget for this is $700 to $750. What I want is: Excellent Image Quality Great Low light Image Quality Perfect colors in the pictures Good video (If HD it would be great, but doesn't really matter) * Focus is important for me, since I'm a newbie I don't know what cause's to the pictures with flu background but I like it so much, so I want to have it. I want to take pictures with blurred backgrounds. From now, thanks for your valuable comments. |

Looking at your budget I would say a canon 500d or nikon d5000. I would go to a shop and look at them see whch you like and do some research on them. Blured pictures well that using a shallow depth of field so look at lenses with low f numbers. Or look at the canon and a 50mm f1.8 plus the kit lens.

Well,
I have a newborn son, I would like to shoot his special moments (like first smile, walk ..) Also I like shooting landscapes, portraits, macro's and especially clear photos during night. I don't like shooting actions but last days I'm deeply interested in HDR. |

The Canon T1i , the Pentax K-x and the Sony A500 (and maybe the A550, and the just announced and A33) will probably all serve you well. Nikon's new D3100 will also work well, but it's not available quite yet. Go to a good photography store and try them yourself.

TCav,
Thanks for your recommendations. Which one of these would you chose? |

For what you want to do, I would choose the one that fits in my hands best. That would be the Sony A500. (That's for my hands. Your results may vary.)
If you can't comfortably hold a camera, if you can't locate the controls and commands when you need them, you'll miss shots and be disappointed with the camera. (BTW, the Sony can do HDR in the camera.)

devotee-
The main difference between the Sony A500 and the Sony A-550 is the megapixel count and the burst mode. With the introduction of the new Sony A33 and A55 price on the A500 and A-550 have become very attractive indeed. Sarah Joyce |

Note that the Sony A500 and A550 models being discussed have a great Live View system with a tilting LCD, and pricing is really attractive on the A500 now (under $550 including an 18-55mm lens at some vendors like http://www.bhphotovideo.com ). You'll also find that many vendors have cut the price on the A550 recently.
But, the A500 and A550 do not record video if that's important to you. The just announced Sony models can record. See this page, and click on a camera model for more information: http://www.steves-digicams.com/news/...lr_models.html Sony DSLR-A560 ![]() Sony SLT-A55V ![]() Sony SLT-A33 ![]() |
