:-)Hi to All,
My previous digital camera experience has been with a Coolpic 4300. I want something with a 12x zoom. I have narrowed it down to the DMC FZ7 and the DSC H5 Please advise, Thanks, Ned |

Ned-
If you intention is to do a good deal of existing light photos, the Panasonic FZ-7 is not the best choice as it shows a lot of noise. The Sony H-5 is much better noise-wise than the FZ-7. The H-5 does well through ISO 400 and is much better than the FZ-7 above that. MT |

I'd go with the Panasonic. Here are some additional opinions you could consider (lsnapshot inks from various reviews and forums):

I agree, Marieta-
The FZ-7 is really marginal at ISO 400. You might be able to print 4" X 6" prints. The Sony H-5 is MUCH better. MT |

When we travel I take a lot of shots thru the car windows. I downloaded the manual for the H5 and I don't see where it tell how to do this. Is it there and I missed it?

Ned-
It is very easy to do on the Sony H2 or the H-5: Just go to the Landscape Mode (found in the Scene Modes) and fire away. That will enhance the saturation a bit and pre-focus the camer at infinity. MT |
