Hello everyone

I am going this summer to the UK to do a video report. I would like to buy a camera and my budget is 600€ (£475). Can anyone help me choose a good camera to film my project? Does I buy a mic?

If your project emphases video, you should consider buying a camcorder. Digital cameras don't have video capabilities that can compare to a decent camcorder.

With the price you're willing to pay you can buy both a camcorder and a good digital camera (for still pictures).

My project is based on interviews. But I would also like to film landscapes. That's why I would like a camcorder.

Sorry, I forgot to precise it, I'm french and camera is the word for camcorder!

Most digital point and shoot cameras, even the inexpensive ones, do a good job with landscapes. You certainly don't need to spend 600 euros on a camera if that's all you need it to do.

Do you think that I can buy a mic and a good camcorder?

What sort of camcorder I should buy? DV? with hard drive or tape? Witch brand is good?

Sorry, I can't help you. I know almost nothing about camcorders. I can only comment about digital cameras.

Is it someone who can help me?
Or, do you know a forum which talk about it?

For camcorders, I'd say that Sony and Panasonic are good choices, and JVC is a bad choice.

I'd also say that you should get HD.

I prefer digital video tape, but others like flash cards (SD Cards, etc.
