Okay, I'm kind of searching for a passtime and I was looking through a flyer and saw some digital cameras and thought, hey that should be cool... but I'm not going to dish out $100+ without doing my homework... so I'm hoping you fine people can help me out. Heres sort of what I want...

I only have a very basic idea of how the megapixels want... mainly I want a camera that can take pictures that will be able to make a 1280 x 1024 pixel background without ANY blur... I figure once you can do that with a photo the size is fine... so I'm thinking thats probably 4 or 5 Megapixels (please confirm that or correct me).

I also want some basic optical zoom as I've heard digital is pretty crummy, so I'm thinking 2 or 3 times zoom (or is that enough, again, correct me if I"m wrong).

So anyways, I don't want to make huge posters or anything, just some nice full-screen backgrounds and pretty pictures. Oh, and if it matters I'll probably be taking pictures of landscapes and scenery, although the deer in my backyard deserve to be photographed too... but my main issue is money, I'm still a young lad and I think that $200 is about as much as I'd dish out (plus whatever a flash card would cost... I'm sure I have about a GB of Secure Digital memory lying around anyways). Well, sorry for the long post, any suggestions appreciated.

It's me again, I really hate to double post, but I need to clarify...

I'm Canadian so I wouldn't like to spend more than $200 Canadian.. (approx $170 US)... and I would like something with a flash and small enough that I don't need an extra case for it (like I want to be able to slip it into my backpack) so nothing abnormally huge.
