I could swear I've seen a digital camera that had a built-in matte feature, but I can't for the life of me remember which one.

It would basically take half a photo at a time, displaying the first half on-screen so you could line up the second--kind of like a panorama feature--the point being that you could take a photo of a person, then have them step over and be in the same shot twice, etc.

Can anyone steer me in the right directionon this one? Or was it only a beautiful dream...?

The Canon S2 and A610/620 have this.. Called panoramic stitch. I did it with my son..LOL

Both Olympus and Casio also have this feature.
