I have a Sony DSC-717 and a Sony DSC-W5. Looking for a camera with a minimum of 10X zoom and no less than 6MP. Am not interested in a dSLR due to carrying all the iron and steel necessary. Most of my photography is of grandchildren and scenery, sites when travelling. Very little action or sports shots. The W5 is small enough that I can carry in a pocket if necessary so pocket size is not a consideration.
I would say that my interior vs exterior shots are close to 50-50. Like most my main goal is picture quality. My budget is -$500 and preferably -$450.
Suggestions please.

I would suggest the Sony DSC H5 or the Canon S3 IS. I have the Sony DSC H5. Everything about it is great with the exception of the slow flash recycle time and the shutter lag. So if you could live with that, I would recommend you give this camera a try. See my other post.
