Hello everyone,
Ive been looking at buying a new camera for general family use but also for taking photos at concerts. Currently i have a ixus 400 and this is absolutely useless in low light conditions. I have used a friends Olympus C765 at concerts and found this to be brilliant but i was wondering if any one could suggest any similar or better ones. Are there any cameras like this that are smaller, i am not too bothered with the "ultra zoom".
I do not have much experience in photography so would appreciate any help. I am looking to pay around $350.
Thank you

The Fuji F10 & F11 are probably the best option among compacts.
They have the best high iso performance in their class.
The next best thing would be a DLSR.

I have shot many concerts and theatrical events, and jmrobb is entirely correct. You need high ISO capability and a DSLR is an even better answer.

The Pentax *istD series cameras offer some of the best high ISO resolution you will find in the DSLR camera market. These cameras are also compact in size compared to most other DSLR’s. With the wide selection of lens available for DSLR’s this to is an advantage over point & shoot cameras regardless of what brand you may consider. Yea good ISO resolution is what you need.
