Default Camera for Travel

I am going to China for 2 weeks. Should I take my DSLR (Canon TSi) or get the new Canon G11 because it would fit in my pocket?

I think you would appreciate the flexibility and high ISO capability of a DSLR camera.

I don't believe the G11 will be out before your trip. When I travel abroad, unless I'm familiar with the place I'm going to, I tend to stick to my P&S for several reasons. It's easy to carry, versatile (no need to swap lenses all the time) and if anything happens (the camera gets stolen, for instance), it's a lot cheaper to replace it. If you really want to get a new camera before your trip (and it must be a Canon), you might want to consider the G10. The Panasonic LX3 is superior but it's much more expensive AND you can't find it anywhere.
