The normal noob and only question allowed in here. Which one? Please support your toughts. Its my first digital camera and I like doing random scenery shots, close-ups, and just haning out with friends shots. I just can't decide. Thank you in advance for your input.

A640 unless you want the extra zoom and IS in the A710, but my preference is the LCD. I love using mine for different perspectives or of taking pics at an event above peoples' heads.

I like the A710 because of the extra zoom and IS, I have 10x zoom because I have a p&s 35mm with 3x zoom.

I do agree. The moving LCD is far more useful for me than the extra zoom and IS. I have never used IS yet, but having a PowerShot G3 I think I couldn't live without the rotating LCD...

Yeah, I would have bought the G7 if it would've had the flippable LCD.
