Cannon SX110 vs SX120 or Samsung WB500

I all,

I would like to know your opinion with is the best camera to buy:

Canon SX110 (200€)
Canon SX120 (200€)
Samsung WB500(HZ10W in US) (170€)

I'm more inclined to the canons, but can't seem to make my mind to witch is the best, there both have similar look, but the 110 has a sightly bigger sensor and less MP and the 120 has the new Digic IV processor.

Welcome to the Forum. We're pleased that you dropped by.

I own both the Canon SX-110 and the SX-120. I prefer the SX-110. It is a very able camera. However, the Samsung WB500/HZ10W does have a very attractive 24mm wide angle lens, if wide angle is an attraction. The Canon SX-110 amd SX-120 do not have a wide angle. I like the wide angle format so I would personally opt for the Samsung.

Yes, there certainly are more options. The Sony H-20 does not have a wide angle lens position, but it has the very best automatic mode in it class, it has 10X optical zoom. It has the best built-in flash unit in the clas with a flash range up to 23 ft or about 7 meters. It can shoot HD video and you can zoom while filming.

The Panasonic ZR-1 has 8X optical zoom. It offers a 25mm wide angle. It uses Panasonic's latest processor and it has an improved Image Stabilization system. It also shoots HD video and you can zoom while filming. Of the Canon SX-120, SX-110, the Sony H-20, the ZR-1 is the smallest of those 4 cameras. That makes it very pocket sized. It is a camera that you can carry anywhere.

So those are the added choices in this class of cameras. Have a great day.
