That is just not true. Panasonic has been making their own CMOS sensors for over a year now, in preparation for their DSLR venture, according to www.dpreview.com and they will not be using the the Sony CMOS sensor used by other manufacturers.

That first imager has had it trial run so as to speak in the Olympus E-330, and I agree, it does have a measurable noise signature. In contrast, the Nikon D-50 and the KM 5D and 7D are using imagers with a decidedly lower noise signature.
