The d3100 will be more expensive if the op want to add a prime down the road, also it can not take a ev bracket. So the op is a jpeg shooter, it can be a disadvantage.

Thanks All for your tips.
So I guess its 500D + 18-55+55-250 then....the thought of carrying around 2 lens everywhere is annoying though!!! The D90 is more in the league of 550D since I'm tight on budgets the choice was between 500D and D3100, many suggested 500D since my choice was only pics and no video ![]() |

Hi All, I picked up the 550D with 18-55 kit lens. Would spend time with the kit lens for a few weeks and deciede on the additional lens.
