hi all..
I see that best buy has a deal on the new canon a630. $299. I can buy a refurbished a610 for about $180. best buy has, of course the 3 to 4 year protection plan, and then I could just walk to best buy to return it, if i needed to, i live so close. I read SO many good things about the a610, but while the a630 has more megapixels, surely the camera will be slower on the shooting, meaning more blur for my long arms to deal with! plus shorter battery life. other than that, i do not really know, as the camera is so new. so how DOES the a630 compare with the a610?! thanks....freestone |

Buy the A630. Read the review from Steve and you'll see that you don't lose speed or that much in battery life. He did 80 shots and a bunch of movies and still had power. The big difference for me is the much larger screen on the A630 compared the the A610. It's actually faster from power up to first shot too. Megapixels does not dictate speed....the processor and lens do.
