1)the a620 has a swivel lcd which people seem to think is a plus- what benefit does this have over a set lcd?

2)the a700 has a 6x zoom vs. a 4x zoom on the a620. would this extra zoom only be helpful outdoors? i am right in thinking that thte extra zoom will be moot indoors anyway because of the low light?

i need some advice please. thanks.

The tilting LCD becuse valuable when you doing low macro shotsof say, flowers. It prevents you from having to get down parrellel to the LCD with your eye. All framing of macro shots has to be done with the LCD when you move in rather tightly.

As tohow muchzoom, that, at least in my mind, is a purely personal decision. You best know what type of photos you take most of the time.

moperman, MT has hit the nail on the head regarding the swivel LCD - it is surprisingly useful.

One of the issues that steered me away from the A700 and to the A620 were reports that shot-to-shot performance with the A700 is slower. I also did not feel I could effectively use the full 6x zoom without IS, hence I decided to save $70 and get the A620.
