I'm considering buying the Canon powershot G6 sometime soon. It has been difficult to find the G6 at local dealers to see or demonstrate in person. Does that mean that Canon is planning on replacing/upgrading the G6 sometime soon? Has anyone heard anything about Canon Replacing the G6?? I'm just wondering why it seems in low demand. Thoughts on alternatives to the G6?

The Digic II chip found in the Canon A-620 pretty well replaced the Canon G-6 with the Digic I chip. The Digic chip is responsible for rapid focusing, and the Digic II is the better chip. It is found in the A-620, but NOT the Canon G-6.
I own a G-6. Please understand that I am not "knocking" the G-6. It has become something of an orphan, and I sincerely wonder iof it will be replaced with a new model. MT |
