I'm sure there's already been comparisons but I was just curious of the major differences of the 2?...The 2.5" LCD as well as being 10 megapixel are the only BIG factors I have noticed. Is there anything else I'm missing? Also what is the difference between the Sony Alpha's anti-dust system & the XTi's? Thx in advance...

Main difference is the AF unit in 400D. It's got 9 point AF system from 30D.

Appreciate the help....I'm somewhat new to this so what exactly is the benefits of a 9 point auto focus system and how many points was the XT?

AF of 350D is not really accurate and has big problems while foccusing with lenses, faster than F2,8 (because of their shallow DOF).

Xt had 7 point AF. I wasn't bad in a sense but just that 9 point system in 30D is better. Now new 400D gets the same system. This new system has central cross-sensor which is more accurate with lenses of f2.8 or wider.

also buffer has been improved alot in new 400d. It used to be 4 RAW files not it is alomst same as 30D with 10 files and 27 jpegs.
