I am a camera noob who is finding it very difficult to decide which ultra zoom camera to buy. I have narrowed my choices down to either Canon or Panasonic but am still open to other suggestions. I would like to spend less than 350. I want to be able to take pictures of fish jumping out of the water and swimming in the water, birds in flight, sunsets to name a few. I have read that panasonic has a faster response time but is it really substantially faster than the cannon and will this be necessary for taking pictures of jumping fish. Does anyone know if the S3 has better response time? I have read reviews that complain about panasonics noise issue so I am hesitant about getting one and the canon seems to have nice features and from what I hear they make good cameras. Could someone please direct me to some links that have real life picture comparisons of these cameras (besides dpreview). Also I would like to take pictures under water of fish (about 1ft depth) if anyone has an opinion on the underwater camera bags made by third parties I would like to hear it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
