I am definitely commited to buying one of these cameras and after much research and reading reviews I have narrowed it down to these two cameras. Aside from the variable lcd does anyone know of any differences between the two that might sway me to one or the other? Does anyone have experience with both? Thank's.

The canon uses cheaper sd cards, can take photos automatically at intervals, is controlable via usb cable, has a faster burst mode and a fast recharging flash.

The sony comes with a charger, rechargeable batteries and the tube for mounting adapter lenses, the flash is stronger (but slow at recharging) and thus has a greater range.

It has fractionally less noise at higher isos.

Thank's for the input. I meant the hsc-02 not the dsc.

No you mean the DSC-H2. :-)

Anyway, they're really about equal in image quality, and any review I've sen that chose one or the other it was very close, and pretty much came down to things like handling and personal preferences. Some prefer the Canon mainly because of the swivel screen. Others prefer the Sony in good part due to it's handling, controls, and ergonomics (and maybe a very slight edge in high ISO image quality).

In other words, the biggest differences are things you can probably judge best by going and looking at them, and testing them out for yourself.

Thank's. Actually I just ordered the H5 today. Got a good deal and read great reviews everywhere about the camera.
