Well it looks like it's time to upgrade my old G1! I'm really wanting an all-in-one camera, one that takes good stills as well as good video. I was just about to buy an S5-IS when I saw the TX1 out there, and noticed the HD capability.

Looking at the reviews has further confused me. Maybe it's the computer I'm on, but the HD video on the TX1 looks choppy to me; I'm wondering how the video quality compares between the 480/30FPS and the 720/30FPS, and while I'm sure the S5 has more still features and probably takes better photos, how much better are they? I guess I'm just trying to figure out what the differences are between them.

When I read the reviews on the Canon TX-1, I did not think that the TX-1 got very good reviews. The reviewers were disappointed. That made the S-5IS the better choice for me.
