I have now decided to purchase a point and shoot Camera for my wife as she is a little overwelmed by the DSLR I am buying.
Anyone have any idea on the Canon powershot S60 and Canon powershotA610 ?? Presently the two are very competitively priced at arround $350 for A610 and $380 for the S60. AU$. Both are 5mp. I honestly havent looked into this thoroughly, I have read some reviews, both give fairly positive reviews from what I can tell. I feel though that the S60 may have originally been a better class of Camera, but the A610 being a more recent release may actually be the better unit. Shutter lag isour main concern as my wife will mostly use it for photographing the children. Also, red eye. Is it a bigger problem with one of these than the other. If anyone can give me a recommendation, please do so. Either will suit her. She likes both. (im not buying both) We owned the Canon Powersot S50 and are sure the S60 may be very similar. Shutter lag and red eye were a problem for us with the S50, but Canonprobablyimproved on these two models. We were both satisfied with the image quality aside from the red eye which was present in almost all photos taken indoor with flash. Meantime, I am still working out if it will be the D50 or KM5D for me. Thanks for any feedback Stephen |
