Hi evebody.... I new in Steve´s Forum and i want a sugestion to buy a compact camera.. I have an a610 from canon, but now i want a compact camera but i does not want to lose in quality like my A610 have.. And What is the best choice for me to a camera that´s have the same quality like canon A610???

I've used both Casios and Canons (although not models listed). For point-and-shoot I find that both brands take nice photos but the focus on each is calculated differently so choose based on personal preference (sharper photos w/possibly jagged edges vs. smoother photos w/possibly blurry edges). I've never used the Coolpix because the time from power-up to first photo is too long for me since I like to grab the camera & shoot spontaneously, also my friends with Coolpix cameras have problems with red-eye. I opt for Casios over Canons since their battery life is better and they're usually less expensive.

I agree with MrsT that these are all good cameras, and that eventually it comes down to personal preference. I however have always prefered canons, especially the SD series (for P&S). I feel like the overall build quality is better, and I just end up with better shots.
