Casio digital compacts

Is there a problem with the Casio (ie: z60..s600..z750..z850 etc), range of cameras? there seem to be an awful lot of them for sale on (ebay & the likes of PC World) that have been reconditioned. I am looking for a somthing like the s600 or the Z760, but am worried about the reports on quality.
Can anyone advise me on a reliable camera that will give good service along the lines of the above cameras.
