Hi',

I've been looking at the Casio P600 and the Canon A610 but can't decide on either one.

They more or less cost the same. Which one is the best buy?

They are more less identical, or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Lars.

Isn't the Casio P600 a bit too old? I'd rather go for the Casio EX-Z120 instead. It is reasonably priced, smaller and lighter than the Canon A610 and it "eats" AAs too.

Picture quality is nice as well - look at the comparisons.

Even at ISO 200 noise is muted, still showing detail.

You are right the P600 is 1½ old, but I think it still got some great features. I think the Z120 is inferior to the P600 and A610 but the Casio Z750 is better but to expensive. I only want to spend about 250 euro.

Are there others that would be a better buy?

Thanks,

Lars.

Lars-

The Canon A-620 is certainly worth a good look.

I have the P600 and it is a fantastic camera, loads of great features and a lovely UI to get to the cameras settings, and some great BS modes if you cant be bothered. Couple of annoyances are usb1 and only 4 x zoom. Id highly recommend it.

Keep in mind that the Canon A-610 and A-620 also have 4X Optical Zoom, and most important, they are much newer digital cameras than the Casio. They deserve a good look.
