Hello experts,
I am interested in mainly taking outdoor photography of sceneries and vistas on my travels. Also will be using the camera for some night time indoor close up shots. I am considering one of the following.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5, Canon PowerShot S2 IS, Sony Cyber-shot H1

Please help me in making a choice. Any inputs/suggestions will be truly helpful.
Thanks in advance

I cannot comment on the canon or the panasonic since I do not own either camera. the sony blows my mind with it"s capabilities. The sony is my fifth camera and it does everthing better than my previous digicams.

I owned FZ5 & Worked with Both FZ5 & S2IS(in my workplace). For outdoor Both of them Take Excellent Pictures,But in Low Lights (Specially Indoor) FZ5 Has a little problems(A little extra noise in ISO400).

S2IS has better Movie Mode & Manual Focus & a swivel lcd but FZ5 has Better LCD & EVF,Auto Focus with Amazing Speed & TIFF (Lossless Compression) Support & it is more than 200 grams lighter than S2IS!.

FZ5 also has a better price.(3/4 of S2IS price,When i bought it) and in my opinion has better LENS (LEICA Brand DC-Vario ELMARIT).

dpreview.com rates FZ5 as a highly Recommended camera.

Good Luck.

Thanks a lot dwtbone and memarian for your thoughts.
As things stand now, Sony has a good camera but the biggest negative for me is its proprietary accessories. It can be a bit of a pain.
As far as Canon is concerned, it is the most expensive and I would choose it if i cared for a video mode but I already have a camcorder. And between canon and panny, other than noise performance, every other factor seems to be going for panny as per my requirements.
So am more or less gravitating towards the panny.
Thanks for your thoughts
