Hi all. I've been looking for a Canon due to some recommendations from this board, and I found an A610 for 219.00, but it is a demo camera which I'm not crazy about..but I also can get an Olympus SP-350 for 245.00 bucks. Need to decide by Monday!
Has anyone used either of these? Dont know as much about the Olympus, but it is more megapixels, etc for the money. I basically do outdoor photography only... thanks in advance! Greg |

If the speed of operation (boot-up time, shutter lag time and shot to shot times) is important to you you will find that the Olympus SP-350 is a good deal slower than the Canon A-610. IMHO the Canon A-610 is the better choice.

The olympus is a very slow camera - frustrating to use, but an even worse problem is that you cant use NIHM rechargeable batteries in it! It is very voltage sensetive and rechargeables being only 1.2 V at full charge makes the camera unusable after about 20 shots. I returned mine and replaced it with a Canon A610,it is a Keeper.
