I have read this great forum for a number of weeks and could use some help.

Recently, my brother asked what digital camera he should buy for the business he works for so they can start selling some of their products on eBay. The business will beauctioninga variety of aircraft and other parts as well asmachinery. The vast majority of images will be taken inside, with additional lighting supplied as need. Macro capability would benice as some of the parts are the size of screws, although some of the auctions will invlove palletes of goods or even tooling machinery, so a decent focal length range is desired butultra zoom is not necessary. Ability to mount the camera on a tripod is essential.

Most likely, the people taking the photographs will not be real enthusiasts, so simplicity in operation would be appreciated. Also, they would like to keep the price below $500 (US).

A camera for this purpose should be quite easy to find. Since the pictures will be goin on ebay, a high megapixel camera is not needed. I would suggest a canon A series, or olympus C series.
