For those of you looking for a compact digicam with excellent movie features; check out the Olympus C770. 10x zoom, 4mp, very compact, great picture quality, and MPEG4 at 30fps.

Well the Oly C770 isn't excatly "ultracompact" like the other digicams discussed here. Nothing to carry in a small womans purse I'dsay.Image quality and movie quality is great - for people and point-n-shoot there could be more wide angle on the lenses.

"The past movie mode is a great feature I will miss if I ever get another camera with quality movies that doesn't have that feature."Can somebody kindly explain how the past move mode works? I can't quite get my brain around it.Thanks, Jill

Now that you have bought the SD300, can you tell me if you can zoom during movie recording. How about AF during movies?

Have you considered Kodak V550? It's got a great movie mode with image stabilization (of course not optical), but you can optically zoom in during video, which creates a crazy sound during playback, but I don't mind it. It's a great cam indoor/outdoor...

The Samsung Digimax i5 does a pretty good job too. It does zoom while shooting a video but mutes the sound while zooming.
I'd go for the Kodak V550 if I could turn back time. Much more solid feel to it with great features. Not much about the Samsung yet cause not quite released in many parts of the world as yet. |
