i would like to know if there is any other digicam like Casio EX-Z750 that has mpeg4 video, currently i only know Casio Z750.
i would like to be able to record vga movie @30fps for 1 hour at only 1GB, only mpeg4 is able to achieve this, preferably using SD card and fairly responsive. thank you. |

Hi there,
Casio, Sanyo (C and HD series) and Samsung (i6 nd NV series) are the only models I am sure of that make MPEG-4 video. There are different types of MPEG-4 formats (codecs) used in these digital cameras, which include MP4, MOV (QuickTime) and DIVX (with file extension AVI). ** EDIT: Kodak V and Z series also use MPEG-4 (Quicktime MOV) ** I find that I have to use the best quality (highest bitrate) setting in order to make decent to good VGA (640 X 480) video on my Sanyo C6. At this setting, 1 GB can store 42 minutes of video. If you are aiming for 1 GB = 1 hour, the video may suffer with a lower quality setting. |

thank you very much blindsight for the detailed info, i have decided to get panasonic fx-01, eventho it can only fit only 20 minutes of video in a 2gb sd card, i can convert it to rmvb format and the size is only 10% of the .mov format, ie. 2GB will become 200MB.
