I know it is somewhere on the forum, but cannot find it. There was a thread on buying p&s cameras and it compared the Panasonic zs5 or 7 and Casio and Samsung, and Finepix and Canon and a few others.
It was interesting reading, but I had not finished it and have somehow misplaced it! Can someone possibly direct me back to that link at dpreviews or to the thread here? Sorry about that... |

Be sure to read the comments in response to the article on the dpreview forums.

Read the article, read the conclusions. They have a very busy interface over there and do not see any reader comments.
How would I find these? |

I also read that article and found it interesting. Thanks tclune. I also don't find any comments on it at dpreviews, so will regard it as a fairly well-thought out presenation.
Sounds as if many of the cameras are excellent and some of the differences are minor. |

Ann-
I am sorry to report that there is indeed some major disagreement with the conclusions of that travel zoom review at DPR. One of their top choices was the Casio FH-100, which I have reported on in the Casio P+S folder. In my estimation, the Casio FH-100 is too inconsistent to be the top camera in a field of 13 different travel zoom cameras. You will also see that they liked the Kodak Z-950, which nobody has had any qualms about. I surely do get better photos from my Kodak Z-950 than the Casio FH-100. I have attached a Z-950 photo sample for you. Sarah Joyce Last edited by mtclimber; Jul 8, 2010 at 7:45 PM. |
