mtclimber,
will you be posting any high iso sample of the hs10. Be interesting to see how well it does in a low light environment. It seems to be a key point for the OP.
Hi shoturtle-
Yes, I will be posting some high ISO photo samples in the next couple of days. I will have to weave in the shots around my teaching schedule. The main issue for today (04/13) was to get the camera working properly once again.

I have just purchased a Fuji HS-10 from B&H Photo Video..
Many thanks to Sarah, tizeye, shoturtle, and others for all the help and inputs... The comparisons, sample photos, candid feedback etc were instrumental for this purchase.
Unfortunately I won't get it till the end of the month, as someone has to get it to me when he returns from the US.
15 days.. sigh.. I hope time flies...
Yes with the currant exchange rate, even with nys sales tax. It is still less expensive to get photo gear in the US as oppose to most Europe or pretty much any where else maybe with the exception of Singapore and possibly Hong Kong.
Yeah, there's a $180 difference..
Congratulations, CraX on your camera decision-
The Fuji HS-10 is a very good choice. Please join all of us in the Fuji P+S folder as we swap photos and technical tips on the HS-10.

My brother owns a G-10 and his wife owns a G-11. He uses the G-10 for work (taking pictures of company assets for tax values and right offs working for a large tax consulting company and the wife uses the G-11 as the family camera both of them moving up from 500 series cannon cameras. Both have a class 4 8GB Kingston brand card in the camera and one spare battery for their cameras. They are both very happy with the cameras, quality and optics. The brother doesn't need a lot of zoom as it is usually wide angle and fill the frame type stuff and then a closer in shot (moving in closer physically) if their is a name plate etc. The wife likes the zoom rang eon the G-11 for capturing family shots as well as kids in action. She also likes the flash of the G-11.
Hope this helps
