My son is an outdoorsman. He has managed to break his Canon PowerShot SD (an easy enough thing to do), and has expressed a desire for an ultra-compact that is water and shock resistant. In addition, he is in Vermont, so cold is a bit of an issue every now and again. I saw that the 770SW is shock, water, and cold resistant, and it looks like a camera that was made for his needs. But I have no experience with any Olympus cameras, and am unsure whether it is as ideal for him as it seems. Does anyone have experience with this camera? What are the things you love/hate about it? Would you buy it again? Why? TIA.

http://www.digitalcamerinfo.com has reviewed 770SW. It was not a very glowing review. The opinion is that the 720SW seems to be the better of these two cameras, and in fact has a faster lens. Steve in his review of the 720SW liked the camera and showed some good photo samples.
