last weekend, i went to a firework show, the pictures i took were o.k. to blurred, can some one recommend a camera to capture fireworks with, i am waiting for steves review of the olympus sp510, 7mp, 10x zoom, this camera has a firework mode on it, do these actually work, in anyones expirience, or not, i know part of my problem was to guess where and when the firework was going to explode as my tired camera, struggled

Well, I can't say I have much experience in this area, but here are some shots I took with my Pentax *istDL with the 18-55mm kit lens. Bulb mode and sitting on a pretty cheap tripod. Pretty much just pressed the shutter release, held it as long as I felt needed for the picture and voila.

The Scene Modes which includes a subset called "Fireworks" really does work quite well. Here is an example photo.

I have the Canon XT and shot great fireworks pictures with it during the 4th of

July, I set my camera at ISO 200, manual mode, aperture f/16, and set the

shutter on bulb. Hope this helps.
