Yes, I saw that, too. Disappointing.

Please keep in mind that the Fuji V-10 uses an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT imager than the F-10, and the fact that the Walmart retail stores have the F-10 (around here) on sale of $225. That is a good deal.

Yes, the Wal-mart that we have close by has it for $225, too. That is a good deal, but it made me wonder if there was something else that was getting ready to come out that was going to dwarf it, and Wal-mart was just trying to empty their stock. Whatever. I'm about 99% there in purchasing it.

Well yes, the F-30 is due to be released shortly at around $350. It has an admirable max ISO setting of 3200. However, do you really need ISO 3200?

From what I understand, I don't believe I will need 3200. I'm just learning about these ISO settings from my brother who is an accomplished photographer. Thanks for your help.

John-
For what it is worth, you will also find numerous Fuji F-10's available on E-Bay.com as well as retail sources. What I am attempting to say is that there are many Fuji F-10 cameras out there, both retail and E-Bay and they are available at bargain prices, John. Well, I don't have to say much more, do I?You just have to look a bit, John. Look, Look, look. Got to Ebay.com, do you get the message? Got it? MT |

The recently announced Sony H2 and H5 have certainly gotten my attention. These ultrazooms have image stabilization AND high ISO (1000) capability. I understand that the H2 will retail for around $400 so it may"street" around $350. I've seen gray market H2's on eBayalready. U.S. versions should be available soon. I haven't seen any reviews yet, but the specs look impressive.

Lucky-
For what it is worth, if you have been following the reviews on the recently introduced Sony high ISO capable cameras such as the W-50 and the S-600, their images are showing a lot of noise at ISO settings above 400. The pivotal question for me is this: yes, the ISO settings are there but how good/noisy are the images? To date, they are pretty darned noisy and show a motles or peckled appearance. MT |

OK
I have followed all this and still no one argued the XD vs SD card problem. Is it that big a deal ? is the XD that slow and does it effect the cameras speed ? Hoe does the kodak v603 fit into this ? |

NJdag-
I cannot find anywhere the Kodak V-603 has been reviewed yet. So we really don't know how fast it really is. As far as ISO capability, goes it has up to ISO 400 at full resolution, The ISO 800 setting is only available at 1.8mp of resolution. IMHO it would not be a good candidate for the club environment.
