hey there,

I'm thinking of buying a digital camera... can anyone tell me which of these cameras is best and why?

I'm a total newbie, as you can probably tell. I'm not into photography as a craft... will just be doing some travelling soon and would like a good solid camera that takes nice pictures, has long battery life, etc.

Please help! thanks.

IMHO the answer is a no brainer. Go for the Fuji F-10. I have had mine for almost a year and I travel a lot. It takes great photos, has a fantastic low light level/no flash capability and it is a tough as nails, relatively small, and very easy to use. Here is a sample no flash photo taken in St Petersburg, Russia frommy Fuji F-10.

I agree.

Although I've only had my F10 for about a week, I have been very happy with it. The only thing that I really do not like about it is the lack of full manual control of aperture and shutter settings. Otherwise, the photos are great, noise is exceptional, battery life is good, the camera is very sturdy, and it is easy to use.

I've had my Fuji F11 for 36 hours. Relatively small and some of the photos are usable. Basically, it's about all I can hope for in a small digital camera.
