I have read good reviews in this forum on the S5200. I tried to check it out at Best Buy but they did not have it in stock. I did notice that they had the S5100 on clearance for $300. What are the improvements between the S5100 and the S5200? Are the improvements worth a difference of $50 - $100?
Thanks |
Hello,
I have no experience with either, but you can get the S5200 for $317.00 from http://www.buydig.com. (no tax and $12 standard shipping) For the extra money, you get a bigger LCD, an extra megapixel, and USB2 out. You can go to http://www.resellerratings.com to check on buydig. They are highly regarded. I am not recommending them. Just sharing the info. Good luck with your purchase, whichever you choose. |
The S5100 is a great camera for the money (I own one)...if you shop hard, you can probably do better than $300, because the S5200 has been released.
I am considering the S5200, because it has a higher ISO capability (1600 vs. 400). That alone should be worth $100. The 5200 also adds another MP, and with a slightly larger sensor, faster start-up time, shorter lag time, a non-extending lens, etc. Move on over to the Fuji forum and take a look - there have been numerous posts regarding the S5200/S5600, as well as sample photos posted. Good luck with your choice...let us know which you decide on. the Hun |
IMHO-
the higher price on the S-5200/S-5600 is well worth the added features offered. MT |
