Anybody play with this camera yet?

I know everyone seems to like the Panasonic FZ28, it just hasn't quite come down in price yet. I'm primarily interested in taking action shots for soccer, track and field, racing. I know this newer Fuji 1500 has a smaller zoom range and not as wide at the low end as the Panasonic, ... just was thinking it might be a decent compromise with this year's technology. I'm seeing the 1500 around $219-229. Thanks.
