FZ35 or TZ10/TZ7?
Dear members,

I want to buy a compact camera for my holidays. I will go in the usa to visit the national parcs of the west USA (yellowstone, grand canyon, yosemit, etc..).

I will take landscape, sunrise, make zoom to watch animals, photo of my wife, etc..

I am hesitating between the TZ10 for its smaller size, and the FZ35 for its sligthly bigger zoom. Nevertheless, The size is not so a big deal I guess, cause I will always have my small backpack with me.

1) I would want to know if the image quality are the same if you compare the two apparatus in the same zoom range and in the same condition (low ligth, brigth landscape, portrait, etc..).

2) Do you think that the 18x zoom bring much more than the 12x (or 10) of the TZ10 ?

3)Last question : for socialize photo, indoors during family lunches with candles ligths, is there one of teh two camera better than the other ?

Thanks a lot for your help.
I hope my english was understandable...

In this case, the FZ-35 is a much better performer. It has an electronic view finder so that you are not forced to use the camera's LCD screen, which on a sun filled day can be almost impossible to see clearly to frame your photo. As a result, you end up sort of pointing the camera and never being quite clear as to what you are actually photographing.

The FZ-35 is only 14 ounce in weight. The Fz-35 has much better image quality, the FZ-35 is much more user friendly and has more really usable features. In the U.S. National Parks you will be very pleased to have the extra zoom provided by the FZ-35. The FZ-35 is also much more high ISO setting capable than the TZ-10.

By every measure when compared to your key points, the FZ-35 will be a better, and more useful camera for you on your holidays.

Thansk a lot Sarah.

So, you confirm what I understood reading the forum : FZ35 is a really good choice for me.

Yes, the Panasonic FZ-35 is the top choice, you will not be disappointed.

What about video?
I am in the same boat - deciding between a Panasonic TZ7/10 and FZ-35/38.
Based on what I have read, the overall photo quality (particularly in high ISO) in FZ-35 is better.

I was wondering if there was any difference between the two cameras in their Video performance.

I am looking for a camera which can be used for both stills and video.

Thanks in advance for your replies/guidance.
