Take a look at the new Samsung NV-7 and NV-10 and the Kodak C-875.

There are alot of cameras that will have reviews here soon because of the transition time. I was able to try out the panazonic lumix dmc-fx07 today and was very impressed with it. After mtclimber said to look at the samsungs, I looked online to check these out. Looks like Samsung might have actually made a decent camera for once. I'm not a big fan of the C-series Kodaks, but I really enjoy the V-series. I would definitely recommend the V603 and you can find the review for it now on this website.

The Kodak C-875 is a real exception to the C-series parameters. It will surprise you, so take a minute and take a look. MT |

MT and Kalel,
Thank you both for good suggestions. I did some search and havefew questions: Samsung NV-7 and NV-10 - I am really concerned with noise at high ISO on it. Kodak C-875 - looks good but don't know about its low light performance. Also it has only 37mm equivalent wide angle. I need something wider. V-603 looks good but not wide enough and not sure about the low light. dmc-fx07seem to have good wide angle (28mm) but how is it in the low light performance? What about Canon SD-700 or SD-800? Are they any good against my criteria? |

Harana-
I don't own the Canon cameras that you referenced. However, I do own the Sony S-600, which is selling on the internet for $176 (http://www.newegg.com). It is a nifty, very small camera with a30mm wide angle lens and ISO capabilities up to ISO 1000 with excellent noise reduction. The Samsung NV-7 does show noise at the ISO 800 and 1000 settings. The best camera that I own for high ISO performance without showing noise is my Sony H-5, but that camera is probably too large for your taste. I hope that helps. MT |

There is a program inside the V603 called, I believe, "perfect touch". It's supposed to brighten pictures up in lower light. Now, most of these types of add-on tools inside of cameras don't usually do well, but in Steve's review he said it worked as stated without introduction of noise.

Thanks again for the continued suggestions and helpful responses. :-)
How about Fuji F-30? How is that in low light and other shooting conditions? How aboutnew Fuji and Canonmodels? Any of those any good at having wider angle and good lowlight performance while being compact? |

With low-light performance and compact, you're not going to find any better than the F30.

Fujifilm is launching the F31fd which is a F30 with the addition of face detection technology available in the S6000fd/S6500fd. You might want to wait for that although I am quite happy with the F30.
