Holy External Microphone

I want to be able to record voice and video without moving parts. I don't like movng parts (hence I am not going to buy a dvd/tape/hd camcorder).

Without an external microphone I pick up too much background noise. I *need* an externalmicrophone.

The hybrids seem a bit low in quality.

So...

What is the best digital camera with an external microphone?

I have found the Olympusc-770, the last Oly to have an external microphone jack.

Is there anything better?
