I am looking for a digital camera with image stablizer. I would like to spend under 250.00 if possable and have 6 optical zoom, that is also not too large. I know it is a tall order, but i though i would ask. I was looking at the Panasonic cameras, but I see Olympus , sony and a few other make cameras with Image stablizer in them as well and now I don't know whatto do. Can anybody list a good digital camera for me.

There aren't many pocket cameras with longer zoom...
Panasonic LZ2/LZ3/LZ5, Ricoh Caplio R3/R30/R4...
Kodak V570 has compact standard range lens but it has second fixed focal length lens with very wide 23mm focal length.
Also those Ricoh's have 28mm wide angle which is better than narrow wide angles of those Panas. (if you like landscapes or architecture good wide angle is important)


And what Oly has stabilization? I haven't noticed single stabilized camera from them since six years old 2100UZ

I thought the olympus Stylus 810 and MJU 700 had stablizers?

If I lower my needs to 3X optical do i have more choices for a camera?

Those Panasonics and Ricoh R3&R4 have stabilization, also like few short zoom Sonys...
But if you're on small budget you propably wouldn't want to touch Sony's proprietary (read: expensive) Memory Stick.

Since I have a wider chosice of cameras with 3X optical or better with stablizer and in my price range, could you give me your top 5 or 7 picks so I can look at them and try to figure out which one is for me? Thanks for all your help.
