At work we have an HP R717 (I think that's the number - I'm at home). It's 6mp. What I like about it is that it starts fast, is quick between shots & if the flash is turned off, it'll automatically keep the shutter open until the picture is exposed. I have a home theatre in my basement & I like to take pictures of the screen, so that feature's a must.
Do either of these cameras do that? I'm leaning towards the Olympus because I'm upgrading a Fuji so I already have a big xD card.

Because both the Olympus Fe-140 and the Kodak C-643 are entry level cameras, their feature set (the availability of high iso settings and their inherent slowness) do not make them very good for you application.

Taking a good photo of a TV screen is more difficult than it appears because the screen is actually flipping over, even though it does not appear to do so to our eyes. Becuase of that you need a string of photos taken with a higher ISO setting and a faster shutter speed.

The HP takes good photos of the TV, but I don't like the HP's small screen. I have a hi-def front pj with the movie playing in 720p & I pause the movie.

Can you recommend an inexpensive camera that'll do what I need?

Thanks.

If you pause the TV, it might work OK. I really can't tell you for sure.
