Hello.

I'm about to buy a digicam, but I'm having problem decinding which one buy:

Sony P200 or Kodak V550??

Can anybody clear my mind ?? :-)

I know kodak has a better movie (mpeg-4). But what about the pictures?

Thanks for your help. :|

Both Steve (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/v550.html) and Jeff over at dcresource.com (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/ko...ew/index.shtml) think the picture quality on Kodak camera is awesome. Sony P200 is good little camera, I personally dislike Sony for its "proprietoriety" (just made up this word). Sony camera is a bigger, and has full set of manual controls. These cameras almost seem to be in different classes. But you can always compare it to the V550 from Steve's review (http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_.../p200_pg5.html) :)

I agree with Comrade, if camera size and video clips are priorities on your wish list, then the Kodak V-550 is a good choice. Ifhigher photo quality, a somewhat larger camera, and manual controls are important, then the Sony P-200 is a good choice.

I concur with that statement. I LOVE it. Between these two cameras it's hard to say which has better image quality, I'd say straight out of the camera Kodak has it, but hell Sony has great lens and awesome pic quality as well, very hard to pick just by that parameter.

For image quality I don't know but IMHO, for style, the Kodak is the winner... :dude:

Funny, for me style was not even a criteria, I'm more of a practical man, however you are right, those camera do look damn sexy...:) It definitely is a conversation starter...
