What do you want to shoot?

What is it about the 18-55 VR kit lens that you're not pleased with?
  • The lens is the thing.
  • 'Full Frame' is the new 'Medium Format'.

G'day Kate

Unfortunately at the moment, your Q is a bit like "how long is a piece of string" ... we don't have enough information to 'best' answer you

Is the current lens not wide-angle enough?; is the current lens not tele-long enough?; is the current lens not 'versatile' enough? ???

My 'standard' lens for the Pentax is the 18-125mm Sigma which gives me a bit more zoom than the shop-standard 18-55 lens. Many here use a 'superzoom' of 18-200 which gives them even more scope for shooting things further away, Still others shoot with a 10-20mm super-wide-angle as that suits their style of photography ... and so it goes on

So - to help us out a bit more > can you tell us more about "what you want to take pictures of" and we'll be better able to help you with our collective wisdom
