Going on a Disney Cruise looking for a new camera

Pocketable would be great, but I am willing to go a little larger if needed

Shooting HD Video

Average to above average zoom

Great during the day taking pictures and not bad in the evening.

If you haven't guessed, I'd classify myself as noobish on camera's. Although i would love to learn more with camera's.

I've used Panasonic previously so I'd like to stick with them but not 100% on it.

Also, does the panasonic FZ300...Look to be good. Just noticed it is in my price range.

You get what you're paying for.In my opinion,there are many options within $ 1,000,panasonic camera is good.

Have you looked at PRE owned cameras, why buy a £300 camera new when you could have a £800 camera used now for £400
