Hi, All:
I am currently looking for a very small pocket/palm camera with high ISO (I mean a usable, low noise high ISO .. not just numbers stuck on as a sales tool.) Anti-shake and a reasonable wide angle would be great ... and hopefully small enough to use in low-light without flash, and with one hand. I've heard the Fuji's are good ... the salesman at the camera store nixed that idea and is trying to sell me a waterproof Olympus. I liked the size of the Kodak dual-lens wide angle, but i'm not sure about how it performs at higher ISO's. Image quality is very important to me. Arggh .. I really don't know where to start. Is there any such camera out there, and if so, does anyone have any real-world experience with it? Thanks so much for your assistance! ![]() |

Hi Ria,
Obviously, the salesman at the camera store isn't listening very well if he's trying to sell you a "waterproof Olympus", when you are specifically looking for a camera that does well in low-light sans flash. I had researched the Kodak dual-lens camera for my brother, but was unimpressed with the pictures for the price. Fuji F20/F30/F31, I'd say, are clearly the top of the heap in the "low-light/no flash" category. Unfortunately, they don't have IS, nor do they have an above-average wide angle. Check out the Fuji Forum at dpreview.com for lots of F30 talk. What kind of photos to you plan on taking? Are you willing to do any post-processing, such as noise removal? Chris |

Fuzi is the best bet for high ISO shots but they don't have wide angle and IS. Right now I have panasonic FX01. Might add F30 for indoor without flash shots.

Unfortunately the camera you want doesn't exist.

Thanks, Everybody, for the advice!
Maybe Peripatetic is right and the camera does not exist, but it sounds like I may be able to get close ... My most important concerns are image quality and low-light, non-flash performance in a small size. (And Chris ... I don't mind PP at all - in fact, I rather enjoy it.) Thanks again for all the comments. Merry Christmas! : ) Ria |

Look at the Fujis, but also the Canon SD800IS (has the wide angle and IS).
