Hello All,
New to this excellent site. Looking for optical zoom of at least 10x, with some decent time video capture, taking you opinions on which camera:

Kodak z1012 IS or Canon Powershot sx110...based on what I've read, I was leaning toward the Canon...On a budget...

thank you all for your input :?

Your analysis is correct. If you can do without an optical viewfinder the Canon SX 110 is a good economy choice. However, your second choice, the Koadak Z-1012 is a very good camera, with an excellent EVF and an excellent LCD screen where you can make all of the changes without going into the menu structure, by using the Command Dial. That is a very convenient feature that makes me, personally, len more toward the Kodak Z-1012 camera over the Canon SX-110.

Here is a sample photo of me taken with the Kodak Z-1012.
