Is it possible to get video resolution on a digital camera that is good enough to show on a 32 inch TV? Or would it be better to just get a camcorder separately? Thinking of upgrading from the Casio QV -R51 to maybe the Canon Powershot S3 lS. One website does have a video to show the Canon's 640x480 resolution when in movie but we can't see it due to our sloooooow, dial-up.

I think you can provided you have an S-video or Y/Pb/Pr connection from the camera and at least 640 x 480 x 30 frames per second. Many cameras have only a composite connection (goes to a yellow RCA jack on the TV) which results in considerable color smearing compared with real 640 x 480 resolution.
Usually you can also download the video into a computer using a different format and higher quality, but you need to do processing in the computer before you can play the video on your TV. |

I will be downloading the pictures and videos to the computer first and using Movie Maker 2 or some such to put little stories together. The video resolution on the casio is only 320x240 which is poor for even the 19" computer screen.
