I'm thinking of the Canon A510. What I like:

Uses AA batteries
4X zoom

The pictures will be used by students at my school for PowerPoint, Hyperstudio and Web Site presentations. No worries about developing any pictures.

What do you think? Any other suggestions?

If you are going to be teaching aspects of photography, such as exposure manipulation, then the A510 would be a good place to start. However, it seems that you will actually be teaching computer stuff, and just need a camera to get images into the computer. If this is the case, then I couldn't see spending close to $200 apiece for a school-use camera.

There are quite a few other cameras that would most likely satisfy your needs, for less money. You can go to your local Wal-mart and see what I mean. There you can find many 3.2mp/3x digicams, many for under $150, some for under $130. You can even mailorder a non-optical zoom digicam from Kodak for under $99. That type of camera would probably prove to be more durable in the hands of students, as there aren't as many moving parts to break.
