Default Need to buy point and shoot cameras

I need to buy two point and shoot cameras. The requirements are:
a. 3 + optical zoom (preferably a 4)
b. Decent megapixel (probabl a 10 should do)
c. sleek

Basically need it for general use...parties holidays and stuff...the budget is around 10000 bucks per camera. I was using Sony w120 before but lost it

Can you please suggest what to buy. Also i can try and get a camera from hongkong so if u think i should pick one from there, please let me know.

The Canon A1100 and SX-series do a good job, but are not my idea of "sleek"? The A1100 and SX110 use two AA batteries, instead of a dedicated ion battery. Some folks insist on AA batts, some believe the dedicated types give better performance.

The Canon SD960 is arguably your safest choice. In that it has few serious weaknesses. Doesn't hurt that it is very stylish to boot!

The Sony cameras you listed are fine for snapshots or for posting on Facebook, etc. But for critical applications their images are slightly softer than Canon or Nikon.

The Nikon S620 is a decent ultracompact, though not so widely popular as Canon or Sony. Some enthusiasts do prefer the unique Nikon features. The coming Nikon S640 may be an improvement, or may not. Too soon for any reviews yet.
