I purchased the Sanyo VPC-HD1 and was very disappointed with it's low light performance. I have since sold the unit.
So, I'm now looking for a decent camcorder (not HD) that shoots well under low light conditions. I would consider MiniDV, Hard Drive or Digital 8 types of camcorders. I'm looking for a camcorder in the $400 to $700 price range. Any recommendations? thx in advance! |

(Fixed the link.) I suggest you check out some camcorder sites ... For example, go to http://www.camcorderinfo.com and search for camcorders with Low Light Performance rating greater than 7, and check out the reviews on the models that fit your price range.

Try this site:
http://www.consumersearch.com/www/ph...ers/index.html Check the "all Reviews" link. They have a "reviewing the reviewers" section that lists pretty much every major website that has reviews for a product. The list for digital cameras for instance has imaging-resource.com, dcresource.com. dpreview.com, and this site as the top 4. A very usefull site for any product research. |

I got the Sony HC96.. you'll find some of my reviews of it on many sites.. This camera does exceptionally well in low light.
